A Medieval

Sensory Experience

Your senses will soar to 14th-century France as Cleveland-based Les Délices returns to the Houston Early Music stage, inspired by heady perfumes and potent elixirs in a program that seeks to entrance, elevate and excite the senses. Vocalists Elena Mullins (soprano) and Jason McStoots (tenor) will be accompanied by instrumentalists Debra Nagy (medieval winds), Scott Metcalfe

(vielle, harp), and Grant Herreid (lute). Presented in four groupings - Heady Perfumes, Up in Smoke, Bacchanalia and Elixir of Love - the performance will feature works by Guillaume de Machaut, widely regarded as the most important composer of the time, as well as works by less well known masters Hasprois, Cordier, Solage, Caserta and others.
